Implementation of Art
We use Access Art to provide our art curriculum. Resources and guidance are provided by experts, which allows our teachers to deliver high-quality components so that our pupils can “fully explore their creative potential”. From a wider range of units we have chosen those that link to our current learning or are a best fit for the needs of our children.
Periodically, we also supplement discrete art lessons with drawing exercises as dexterity and fine motor skills also feed into the children’s handwriting development.
The components taught come within the following aspects of art:
- Drawing and sketchbooks
- Print, colour and collage
- Working in three dimensions; and
- Paint, surface and texture
