17.01.25 Y4 Learning
Year Four are just such a spectacular year group!
What a week?! It feels like we have packed it all in! We had our final Community Bus session, had our first Chimp Management session, our normal music lesson and all the other amazing learning in between. Your children have been utter champs!
Science:
This week’s science component was such an exciting one! We learnt about electrical circuits and how to power a bulb. Each child had a turn at exploring the equipment (bulb, cell and wires) to create a complete circuit. Amongst the excitement, the children learnt that a circuit must be complete in order to work. We can’t wait for next week!
Geography:
In our first geography component, we had fun with atlases and inflatable globes! It was definitely a winner. As well as recapping about continents, countries and oceans (and singing the continents song!) we looked at the structure of the Earth. Ask you child about the layers; can they tell you the order of the outer core, mantle, crust and inner core? Did you know that the inner core is approximately the same temperature as the surface of the sun? The pressure from around the core is so high that even though it is liquid it acts like a solid?!
Y4GH:
Star of the Week is for Olivia. She could honestly be the star every week – such a great all-rounder.
The Learning Principle postcard is for Shayla and is Be Positive. She has had an amazingly positive week and is putting some of that into her learning!
PE Star of the Week: This week, the PE star of the week is for Layla from Y4GH. Layla is an amazing always child and does everything asked of her in every PE session, no matter what skills are being taught. She also joins in with a huge smile on her face!
Y4MB
The Learning Principle (Make Careful Choices) postcard was given to Holly. She has really taken her time to be accurate in her writing this week, making sure she was extremely accurate with her use of inverted commas for dialogue.
Star of the Week will be confirmed when Mr B is back in school following his training course.
