Yesterday was our final workshop- 'We are Family'. We discussed the behaviour systems that we have in place in school and supported parents with any issues they may be having at home around behaviour. Our raffle draw was very special, as all children won a reward for coming to the workshops! A big thank you to all the families who gave up their time and attended the workshops. It was so lovely to get to know you all better.
Today we had a lovely day celebrating world book day. We enjoyed coming to school in our storybook costumes and seeing our teachers dressed up. We love reading in nursery.
This week we have been exploring painting on ice. We enjoyed watching what happened as the ice melted and all the colours from the paints ran together. Children described it as looking like a rainbow and knew that the ice was melting. They concentrated so well and spent a long time on the activity. We had lots of fun!
Yesterday was our Time for Bed workshop. We talked about bedtime routines and ways to make them work for different families. Parents shared stories with their children while they enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies. Our raffle winners were Jabal and Raheeq in the morning and Brodie and Zahan in the afternoon. Thanks to all the parents who joined us again! Next week is our final workshop – We are Family.
We hope you all had a lovely half-term break! Welcome back to nursery for Spring 2. Here is the newsletter for this half-term. We will be learning about freezing places like the Arctic and Antarctica. Towards the end of the half-term we will move onto learning about farms and animals that live in England.
We have been working very hard in our construction area building enclosures for a variety of animals. We have worked together and added lots of things for the animals to do and eat. They have had swings and slides, cheese and lots of drinks. We hope you all have a lovely relaxing half term.
Today we had our pyjama party. Most of us came wearing our pjs, we enjoyed bedtime stories for golden time.
This week we have read the story Dear Zoo and in the provision we have enjoyed building enclosures for animals, playing with the zoo animals in the black tray and writing letters to the zoo. Special shout out to Lennie for his amazing writing on the whiteboard where he copied his sentence I like a crocodile. Miss Houghton was so proud of him!
We have been experimenting with baking soda, red food colouring and vinegar to see what happens when they are combined together. We found that the combination made some exciting mini fizzy lava volcanos!
Yesterday was our play workshop for parents, and we had a lovely time playing in the nursery. We loved having our adults join us. Our raffle winners were Zaviyar and Olaife who got to choose a prize out of Miss Houghton's prize box, and Laraib and Alannah who won a book token.
We have opened a beauty salon in nursery. The children have enjoyed using the girls worlds heads, brushing their hair and applying makeup. They have even had a manicure.
