School Meals

Our Lunchtime Experience

We are proud that all our meals are prepared and cooked fresh in our school kitchen every day, by our own catering team. Our menu operates on a three week rota.

We encourage our parents to talk to their child each morning about their choice of school dinner as school meals are ordered during morning registration.

Each day, children can choose from a choice of:

  • Hot school meal of the day
  • Hot vegetarian school meal of the day
  • Jacket potato with a choice of beans, cheese or tuna
  • A 'Pick n mix' sandwich bag, with a choice of ham, chicken, cheese, tuna or plain bread and butter. Children can choose from a choice of crudities; crackers, yoghurt or dessert in their bag
  • There is also a choice of hot dessert, yoghurt or fresh fruit each day

Drinking water is always available on tables.

Children are served hot meals in the café, the Pick n Mix option in the Studio and/or Oasis and jacket potato option in the Oasis.

Children who have sandwiches or pick n mix can choose to eat in the Cafe, Studio, Oasis or eat al fresco on the picnic tables outside, weather permitting.

Packed Lunches

We understand that some parents  prefer their children to bring a packed lunch into school, rather than having a hot dinner.  We always encourage our pupils to eat healthily - click on the link below for lots of great, healthy packed lunch ideas.

Costs and How to Pay

School Meal Costs

The cost for a school meal for children in Nursery is £2.00, per child, per day.

All children in F2, Y1 and Y2 are entitled to universal free school meals, so your child can have a free meal in school, every day.

The cost of a school meal for children in Y3 to Y6 is £2.30, per child, per day.

How to Pay for School Meals

School meals are payable through Schoolcomms; we encourage you to download The School Gateway app.  Please do not hesitate to speak to the office if you need any help.

Income Based Free School Meals

If your child is entitled to Income Based Free School Meals, you do not need to pay for their school meals, regardless of the year group they are in.

We encourage all families to check whether they are entitled to this as your child will also be entitled to free school milk. The school will also receive additional funding to help support children's learning.

To apply for Free School Meals, please follow this link Apply for Free School Meals or see Mrs Bibby in the office.
