World Book Day Week
Wonderful
Two weeks in and we are still achieving so so much!
Swimming:
This week, every child was swimming multiple lengths of the pool! They even lowered the pool floor to so they were properly swimming. Whether they had a woggle, arm bands, a back float or a hand-held float or even nothing they gave it their absolute ALL and we are so proud of each and every one of them! Mrs Heaver and Mr B were tired just being in the pool with them swimming so confidently!
Design and Technology:
We have started our new design and technology unit. We are doing electrical systems and aiming to meet a design brief that requires us to make our own torch. We looked at existing torches and did some product analysis under key areas: intended client, function, manufacture, aesthetics, safety and environment and size.
Writing:
Writing has been so enjoyable. We are writing descriptive paragraphs based on the short animation ‘Feast’. The children are experimenting with varying sentence openers (fronted adverbials), using a wide range of verbs and adverbs and capturing the character’s emotions.
Y4GH:
Star of the Week is for Archie. He is always so polite, kind and helpful; as well as a great member of our class.
Narin is receiving the ‘Make Careful Choices’ postcard this week. It doesn’t matter what subject it is, or what time of the day, Narin gives her absolute all in everything she does and to the best of her ability!
Y4MB
The Learning Principle (Feel Proud) postcard was awarded to Ethan Smith-Reynolds. He has become so proud of his amazing writing: he has pestered Mrs Read everyday to show her because he is so proud of his writing.
Star of the Week is Ellie-May for just giving 100% in everything. She should so proud of herself.
PE Star of the Week: This week, the PE star of the week is for Ellie-May. She worked brilliantly in both swimming and when learning to ride a bike.
