W/E 8th November

We keep saying it but we have had another awesome week!

We’ve had a fabulous first week back in our new half term. Your children have come back ready and raring to learn.

History:

Despite finishing our Anglo-Saxon unit, we are already stuck back into our new unit, which starts where we left off. We set the scene of being on an isolated island. It was 793AD in Lindisfarne and the nuns and monks were peacefully going about their normal business. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to last and a group of Vikings rampaged through the monastery, slaughtering and pillaging the treasures that were there that had been donated to the Christians. The classes really enjoyed acting out the story and then were very well-informed about why the Vikings had a reputation for being bloodthirsty. It was excellent fun and so informative!

Indoor PE:

Our indoor PE has moved to Monday afternoons and is with our specialist teacher, Miss Georgina. We started doing travelling by galloping and skipping. Then we began a street dance routine – we did a great job of remembering the first four sections of the dance.

Y4GH:

Star of the Week is for Jessica. She is such an amazing pupil and is always on task and so enthusiastic in lessons to contribute her ideas.

The Learning Principle postcard is for Finn. He has such an amazing work ethic in lessons and a good grasp of history knowledge. His part in the re-enactment of the raid of Lindisfarne was on point! Well done Finn for making those careful choices.

Y4MB

Star of the Week is for Olly for being an all round superstar.

The Learning Principle postcard was given to Amina for making lots of Careful Choices both in school and home with her learning.

PE Star of the Week: This week, the PE star of the week is from Y4MB and is for Charlie. He showed good listening and great effort.

CLIC:

CLIC was another EXTREMELY challenging one this week. As well as portioning decimal numbers, we had to round decimal numbers to the nearest whole number and find the missing number in place of our usual addition question. We still had some high scores and good efforts, though.

Y4GH: Bobby, Jessica and Finn all scored 9 or above.

Y4MB: Corey scored 9 or above and both Charlie and Darcie scored full marks – well done!

Beat That:

Y4GH: Our top scorer was Esmai H with 28. These children scored half marks or above: Bobby, Levia and Ashton. Well done to you.

Y4MB: Our top scorer was Aklil with full marks again – superb! These children scored half marks or above: Corey, Kamari, Naom, Charlie, Darcie, Robyn and Muadh. What brilliant job!

Spellings:

Y4GH: We have a few full marks again this week: Charlie, Reon, Esmai H, Bobby, Mia, Narin and Ellasu. Great job guys!

Y4MB: Mr B’s class also had full marks scored: Amina, Bayan, Aklil, Corey, Naom, Lewis, Charlie, Maisie, Darcie, Robyn, Muadh, Ethan SR and Ivy. Fantastic work!
