Welcome back to nursery for Summer 1. We said goodbye to Mrs Mortimer last half term and welcome Miss Dyson this term. We will be learning all about growing and Minibeasts this half term.
This week we are very excited to have some caterpillars arrive. We have been careful passing them around to look at how small they are. We are eager to see how big they will grow.
As part of our learning in our seaside topic we are very excited to be planning a visit to Cleethorpes. Whilst we are there we will be having lunch from the chip shop, a donkey ride, an ice cream and spending time playing on the beach.
We have been making and eating delicious chocolate nests for Easter in Nursery. The children did such a good job working together to crunch and squish up the shredded cereal, melt the chocolate and stir together the mixture.
Thank you to all our families who have sent in Eid photos. We hope you had a wonderful time celebrating!
Today was our Easter Bonnet parade. Lots of us made amazing bonnets at home which our teachers were very impressed with! We sang the Spring Chicken song for grown-ups and paraded around the hall wearing our bonnets. We were amazing!
The children loved coming to nursery in their red clothes and funny noses for red nose day. We would like to thank you all for your kind donations.
We have gone penguin mad this week in nursery. As part of our learning all about Antarctica, we have been playing with penguins, making penguins out of soft clay and creating paper penguins with googly eyes. We have also learnt lots about the South Pole.
Pip the penguin has arrived in nursery and needs our help! They are trying to get to the North Pole to visit the polar bears but got lost on the way!
In Pip's letter addressed to the nursery children, they asked the children to help look after them for the time being. The children will need to find out what Pip likes to eat, where they like to sleep and the things they like to do to have fun.
The children also did a little waddle dance to welcome Pip and make them feel at home.
This week we have been enjoying learning more around cold places such as the Arctic and Antarctica. We have enjoyed playing with small world animals and we have learnt that polar bears live at the Arctic and Penguins live at Antarctica and they never meet each other. We have painted polar bear faces on the creative table and created maps of the Arctic. We are such super stars at our learning.
This week we have been learning about the Arctic. We have been on some wild adventures exploring the igloo and looking for the Arctic animals we have been learn about.
We are really enjoying our topic on the Arctic. We have been painting some lovely Arctic pictures using white paint, glitter and snowflakes. We know lots of facts about the Arctic, what the weather is like and what animals live there.
