Friday 28th February
What a wonderful first week back.
What an excellent start to the half term. We have already accomplished so much.
Swimming:
What another fantastic swimming session. The groups are properly established and they were swimming and moving in the water for the full 40-minute session; there were definitely some tired children by the end of the afternoon.
Geography:
We have now finished our geography unit on volcanoes and earthquakes. The children know so much about tectonic plates and what their movement can cause. They have labelled diagrams, identified places on maps, written explanations and recalled knowledge fantastically.
Maths:
We have gotten stuck into fractions again this week. We have been finding fractions of quantity, and then moved onto equivalent fractions. It has been a great set of lessons using cubes, fraction walls, notations and bar models.
Science: This week, we looked at what materials make good conductors and what materials make good insulators. The children created circuits and replaced 1 ‘material’ to test if the circuit still worked. After each ‘test’, they completed a table to show what they had found.
Y4GH:
Star of the Week is for Bobby. He has been such a superstar this week and remained focussed and as positive as he can!
Mia is receiving our postcard this week for her amazing positive attitude. She comes in every morning full of smiles and just lifts the day!
PE Star of the Week: This week, the PE star of the week is for Calia. She has already made great improvements in her swimming technique and is really enthusiastic!
Y4MB
The Learning Principle (Careful Choices) postcard was awarded to Kamari. He has made loads of great choices in all areas of his learning and within school this week.
Star of the Week is Brogan because she has worked so hard this week. .
